So I just tried to help my 30 year old cousin get a job. Its a real simply job, that doesn't requrie many skills, and it's part time. She's never had a job before in her life, and lives at home with her mom with her two brothers. Her mom is the ONLY one working at the moment. Anyway, the job was working at the House of Blues part time in the ticket boothe. Her response was, "I don't know"!!!! WFT?!?!? Your 100% health, not working, not in school, and do nothing everyday besides play video games. Heres a REALLY simple job that's part time and doesn't requrie ANY training and YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU WANT THE JOB???? What the hell do you plan to do when your mom can no longer take care of your over grown ass??? I can't stand moochers, I can't stand people that don't want to help themselves, and I done talking to her. I seriously hope she doesn't think that she's going to live with me when I move out. AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!! If I could work right now, I would take the job myself. I don't understand what her deal is, but she better do something soon. Gosh I just want to slap some sense into her!!!!

It almost ended in disaster........

Last night, I went to see New Found Glory again. This is one of my favorite bands, and I love them more and more every time I see them. Their shows always involve high energy and lots of jumping, and they usually tour with bands that can produce the same thing. However, last night, this always cause a HUGE disaster at the venue.

I got to the venue around 3pm and stood in line with the five people that was ahead of me. Yesterday, it was really cold, and windy, so we were talking and moving around trying to get our minds off of how cold it was. The concerts was at The Loft, which sits above The Palladium Ballroom. The Loft is pretty small, and I looks as those it only fits 300 people inside. We were all trying to figure out why they decided to have it there instead of the main room, which can hold over 1,000 people. I'm thinking it's because the last time NFG played in the main room it wasn't that many people there.

Around 5pm, the crowd started showing up. I when to the box office to buy my ticket, and got back in line. Behind me, there was a group of teens, and apparently one was drunk and peed in the parking lot. One of the sercuity guards saw him and banned him from the concert. His friends that he was with was pissed and so was he. This is were the drama started. He got into it with the sercuity gurad, not physically, by swearing loud, and talking trash to the sercuity guards. This didn't help the situation of course. It ended with the guy that was banned running off somewhere and his friends looking for him and trying to sweet talk the sercuity guards into letting him come in,which didn't work.

A little after 6pm, concerts never start on time, they finally let us in. The Loft is the type of venue were you can reach out and touch the stage. The stage is really small, and there are places were people can sit down and still see the stage perfectly. They had barricades up just in case people wanted to crowd surf. I was standing in a good spot so I guess standing in the cold for three hours was worth it. People were coming in and the venue soon became extremely crowded.

The first band to take the stage was Shai Hulud. They were really good. They sound was pretty hardcore punk. The pit went crazy. There was pushing, moshing, circle pits, you know all the good stuff. The lead singer spent more time on the barricades rocking out with their fans than on stage. I love when bands do that!! I plan on buying some of their cds, and seeing them again next time when they are in Dallas. Funny moment: The guitarist/vocalist asked someone up front how many heads he had. The person answered one. The guitarist then said "Oh really, because your looking at me as if I have 16". I'm pretty such they person was embrassed.

Next up was Set Your Goals another band I love. I've seen them three times and was really excited to see them again. They came out with "Goonies Never Say Die!" and everyone in the place started jumping and moshing, including me. They also played, "Echoes","Work in Progress", "We Do It for the Money, Obviously", "Dead Men Tell No Tales", and "An Old Book Misread". During "We Do It For The Money, Obviously", the floor of The Loft started to cave in during to all the jumping. The sercutiy guards quickly stopped the band from playing to figure out what was going on. I turning around because everyone was looking behind me and saw. You could see the tops of people's heads as if you were standing onstage yourself. I'm only 5'4, so I could tell that people were stating to sink in if I could see the tops of their heads. The sercuity told everyone to go outside on the patio until they could figure out how to fix the problem. I didn't move, mainly because I couldn't believe what was going on, and because I didn't want to get trampled from the herds of people running to the patio. They then told the people that were still standing around, like me, to go downstairs, because it quickly became apparent that they couldn't continue the concert in The Loft. If they would have continued then the floor would have give out, and we all would have fell through. I'm not sure if anyone got hurt or not, but there were fire trucks everywhere. So once again we were standing outside in the cold waiting to be told what to do.

After what felt like five hours, it really was just 30mins., they decided to move the show to Gilley's, which is located behind The Palladium. It took a while for them to move all the equipment, and merch to Gilley's. Some people, including myself, were still on edge over what happened, and really weren't sure as to what would happen next. After about an hour and a half, Bayside's equipment were on stage, and they took the stage. They didn't play their full set because of what happened, and how long took to move everything. They did play a bunch of my favorite songs by them including "The Walking Wounded", "Blame it on Bad Luck", "Devotion and Desire", "Masterpiece", and "Boy". Anthony, the lead singer, got annonyed because of all the feedback. Gilley's is not a good place to have a concert because of the shitty sound. It took forever for them to even get the speakers to work. They were suppose to play ten or more songs, but only had time to play about five.

After Bayside, it was NFG's time. They got in their whole set, which was cool. I though they were going to do the same as Bayside because it was getting late. They played old hits like "Dressed to Kill", and new ones like "Listen to Your Friends". They crowd when wild. I even jumped in the pit for a while, until my knee started hurting lol. I even got chance to touch Jordan's hand, (fangirl squeal). People were stage diving, getting on stage and singing, having a great time. For their encore, Jordan and Chad came out sing played "Too Good to Be", which is one of my all time favorite songs, and in vintage Rachel fashion, the tears began to flow. Haley from Paramore came on stage and watch the encore. She didn't sing with them, just took picture of all the craziness happening.

All in all, it's was well worth the money. Every NFG show I've been to in the past was well worth the money, so I wouldn't expect anything less from those guys. Their music alway puts me in a better mood. Hopefully, next time they swing through town, Palladium will put the in the ballroom no matter how many people show up to advoid something like that happening again. Funny thing about what happened with the floor, is that I visualized something like that happening before the show.

Because of my illness, I get blood transfusions once a month. This, over time, leads up to iron overlaod. Iron overload is dangerous and can kill you. There's medicines out that can help out with iron overload. One is a pill that you dissolve in 8 ounces of water and drink everyday; the over is an infusion where you have you stick a needle in your belly button and let the medicine go into you for 8 hours four nights a week. I've never been on the infusion before, but have took the pills for the past two years. Before I switched hospitals, there was no problem getting my medicine every month. Now, however, there's a problem paying for the medicine. I never really knew how much it cost, until now. The medicine itself cost $2,000, then there's another $2,000 co-pay for it. I was pretty shocked to fine this out. I knew it cost a lot of money, but not that much. So now I have to figure out how to pay for it, and apply for grants, and to different foundations that help people pay for their medicine, and with the economy the way it is, I'm sure this is not going to be easy. My iron level is already 4,000 compared to what a normal iron level is at 150. This is dangerous and needs to be taken care of quickly. Of course, normally I would tell the doctors to take me off of the blood transfusions, but that can't happen. I really had enough of my plate, now I have this to deal with......

So I had an appointment today since I haven't had a blood transfusion since Nov. (WAY overdue!!), and for some unknown reason my heart rate was extremely high. I'm not sure if it's because my blood count is low, or if it's something else ( I don't even want to think that it's something else so I going to say it's because my blood count is low). Anyway at first the doctor was not going to let me come home, but she did thankfully and now I have to chill out and relax until thursday( whichi is when I go back to the doctor for the transfusion). I get a little scared and nervous whenever the doctor says something wrong with my heart or my brain, because I already know one day something will happened just because of all the things I've already been through, but I'm hoping that it happens later on rather then sooner. I already know the outcome of my illness, hell all I have to do is look at my mom and know that I will be in her shoes one day, so it scares me everytime I have an appointment. Next month I have to get another ECHO on my heart (big whoop!!), I just hope nothing has change since the last time.

So friday I went to Austin to see Scott Weiland do a solo show. The day started off crappy pretty much, but ended with me crying all the way back to Dallas.

My stupid cousin woke me up at 5am because she claimed that she wanted to get up early, take her bath, and get out of my way because she knew I was going somewhere that day....Seriously why in the hell are you up at 5am when you don't have anything to do that day?!?!?! Well that's another story. I couldn't go back to sleep so I listened to music. Around 8ish I got up since it was pointless staying in bed. I was going to take the train to FT Worth to meet up with Candace. It was my first time so I was trying to make sure I got all the info I needed so I could met her in time. So around 11ish I'm sitting on the bus stop waiting on the bus, and it's late. Public transportation is going in so many way, but it can be a HUGE pain in the ass!!!!! So the bus shows up around 12:40 but the train left around 12:55. So I'm pissed and want to forget the trip, go home, and get some sleep. Oh and on top of that, once the bus is finally on the freeway, we hit traffic!!! Things weren't going go for me that day. I finally get to the train staion about 10mins after it leaves. Not to mention it cold outside, and I'm having nose issues. I though to myself, "Can things get worse?".

It's 1:20pm and a train arrives. I'm thinking that maybe the 12:55 one was late and that I'm making good timing. HA! Come to find out that it doesn't leave until 1:55pm. So I'm finally on the train. It was comfy and nice. I had my bus pass that cost $3, thinking that I could use that for the train. I found out as soon as the train leaves the station that I should have bought the $5 one. So I'm freaking out thinking that I'm going to get a $75 ticket for not having the right pass. Lucky for me no one checked for passes. About an hour after the train leaves I meet up with Candace and we're on our way to Austin. It was a fun trip. My knee usually acts an ass on road trips, but this time thankfully it didn't. So I'm thinking that things are finally turning around for me........until we get to Austin. I drank about three water bottles while on the train, and I had to pee really bad, but luck changed on me and we couldn't find a gas station with a bathroom. I'm looking on the window for a dark enough place to pee in, when we finally found one. It took about 20mins. Gosh that was the BEST pee of my life!!

After that, we decided to look for the venue, La Zona Rosa. I hadn't been to Austin since I was 8 yrs old, so if I had seen it before, then I sure as hell forgot. I called Netti since she's always in Austin, and she tried to help as much as she can, and we stumbled acrossed it. The venue was really nice. We started looking around and noticed that everyone was pretty much dressed up. I mean dressed to impress, like they were going to some fancy diner or something. Now I don't know about were you live, but here in Dallas people look like they just woke up at concerts here. I felt like I was in New York or something. I was really weird, and freaky. Why were your church shoes to a rock concert?

The first band (yeah I was shocked to find out there was an opening band) was Alpha Rev from Austin. They were really good. I was digging them and wouldn't mind seeing them again. Next of course was the guy I been waiting to see since I bought the ticket a month ago. It took a while for him to come out, but this time I wasn't as worried as I was when I saw STP last year, because we saw two tour buses in front of the venue. So I knew he was back there. He comes out in his three piece suit and starts singing stuff from his cds. I don't have either yet, so I wouldn't be able to give you any of the song titles, all I can say is that it sounded AMAZING!!!!!!!! Since I bought the ticket, I wondered if he would do any STP stuff, and not enough half way in the set I hear the intro to "Vasoline". I started jumping around, head banging, dancing, crying (yeah I know I'm a cry baby, SO WHAT), and singing. He also played "Atlanta", "Unglued", and "Interstate Love Song". At first, it was weird not seeing the other guys from STP, but the guys that played with him were AMAZIMG, and did the songs justice. It was really great. I didn't expect to hear any STP songs, I did wonder if he would do any, but never expected, and I was glad to hear them. The set was good, I wouldn't mind seeing he do another solo show again. Hopefully next time he will come to Dallas *fingerscrossed*(BTW the bass player was HOT!!!!!!)

So the show is over, and we're wondering if they will do a meet and greet with the fans, because it seemed like everyone was hanging around, so we did to. Not sure how long it took, but we saw the bass player so inside the bar that's connected to the venue. So after a while we go back inside and I get a beer and we sit down. I saw the rest of the band walking around, but I didn't know who they were so I was just waiting on Scott to show up. So I'm drinking my beer slowing, talking to random people around, and then I see him. Lucky for me, I didn't have any beer in my mouth so I didn't choke, I was just in awe. As soon as we saw he sit down, we were going to walk up to him and ask for a picture since we didn't have anything for him to sign, but decided not to since he was sitting with some woman and the bass player from the band. We wanted to be nice and respectful. Stupid us because everyone ran to him asking for pictures and autographs. So we're just sitting there looking at him and I'm damn near on crying my eyes out. So finally, after everyone is gone, we decided to get up and go over to him. Once we were at the table we were trying to figure out who's going to ask him for a picture. Now I just go up to someone and ask if they mind, but this time I couldn't find my voice. So this guy that was sitting next to us decides to ask. He didn't ask Scott directly, which I don't blame him, he asked the cute bass player. At first he was like no I don't think he wants to take a picture with anyone. Then Scott says the same thing. So I'm like ready to leave and go to the car and just forget about it. No the dude that was sitting next to us is still talking to Scott. Finally Scott says okay but make it quick. I'm still trying to find out what the hell the guy said the him. As soon as I heard NO come out of Scott's mouth I tuned everything out and was just ready to go home and sleep. So the guy that was sitting next to us gets a picture with Scott and I'm thinking that that's it since he was the one that was talking to him. Then Scott puts his freaking arm around me, and I'm ready to melt!!!!!! Candace and I got our picture with him too!!! I thanked him and he's like "Yeah" and walks out to the bus. I'm sure it didn't understand what that meant to me. I've listened to that guy since I was a little kid, so that was an EPIC moment in my life. I don't care if I never meet another rock star in my life, I'M A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!!!!!! By the time we get back to the car, I'm crying my eyes out. I still couldn't believe that that happened. And to this day I STILL don't believe. I know he really didn't want to take the picture, but something changed his mind, and I really appericate that. I wasn't going to make him take a pictuer with me, but he did and that will forever mean the world to me. THANK YOU SCOTT!!!!!!!!! and thank you sooo much dude in Austin whatever your name is for saying whatever you said to make him change his mind!!!!
